We prefer to hire candidates with some dog experience, of course. We're willing to train good applicants, though. If you take the job as seriously as we do, and put the health and safety of our dogs first, you will prosper at The Dog Sanctuary. We will help you learn everything you want to learn.

Monthly Open Interviews
The Dog Sanctuary holds monthly open interviews the first Tuesday of each month at 3 p.m. sharp.
Wear appropriate clothing, bring your resume, and expect to be here for an hour (give or take 15 minutes).
Late candidates will NOT be considered for the position.

Dog Handling at The Dog Sanctuary
TDS has main jobs that need to be done daily to keep the dogs and their people happy and healthy. You are expected to be fully capable of performing these duties while working.
Daycare Duties Are: Runner (taking dogs to and from owner and handling payments - expect to be on your feet 24/7), Cleaner, and Dog Handler.
Those duties include but aren't limited to: reception work, comfortably handling groups of dogs (every size and breed, as long as they are friendly) off leash with someone or alone, giving medications to dogs, picking up dog waste and keeping the facility sanitary, working alone or with a team, and ensuring our canine guests are as happy and comfortable as we can make them. We have a strict policy on how we manage our dogs to ensure they are handled force free, .
Starting pay: $9/hour with room for advancement
Starting hours: Part Time, 25-35 per week
Appropriate dress: close-toe, non-slip shoes, appropriate outside weather apparel (jacket and gloves for winter, short sleeve shirt for summer), minimal jewelry (nothing dogs can rip off).

Hours needed: TDS is seeking handlers for two shifts, 6:20 a.m.-11:45 a.m., and/or 1:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Some Saturdays throughout the year will be needed. We are flexible and will try and work with you.
