Wood Violet
Animal Rescue

Due to the tremendous need for humane care AND teaching of animals and their humans, Wood Violet is here to provide shelter and education for Southeastern Wisconsin. Wood Violet will conduct and assist in rescue missions, provide foster care and adoptions, and provide exceptional knowledge in animal behavior, specifically dogs. Currently Wood Violet will be foster based only. Our goal is to raise enough money to house senior, disabled, and retired domestic and farm animals. We will get them ready for adoption or provide them a forever home. We will also offer educational events on responsible care of animals for children.
Wood Violet is ready to help the animal world. Are you ready to help us save them?

Our Story:
Melissa Etzler founded Wood Violet Animal Rescue in March 2017. After opening The Dog Sanctuary, she saw a need not only for better rescue care of dogs, but cats too. Melissa came from a family that loved helping animals in need. It was a natural decision when she decided to make it official and start an animal rescue. We would not be able to do any of this without the support of families and friends. Thanks to The Dog Sanctuary (providing doggy daycare for Sussex, Pewaukee, Brookfield, Hartland and Menomonee Falls, WI) for funding our startup, we were able to get rolling right away!
Our Mission:
Together we are going to make the world a better place. We will bring love and life to animals that have only known pain. Together, as a community, we are going to make a difference to thousands of animals.
Our Board:

Judy Richards, Vice President

How to help us grow to help thousands of animals:
Foster.
Until we find a location we are going to be primarily foster based. You will only get an animal that fits into your lifestyle. We want this to be a happy and successful transition from us, to you (foster parent), and their forever home. We also cover all vet costs, food, and some training by a certified professional. For more information please contact and let us know what animal you would be interested in fostering.
